Delta Fresh Foods Kids Field Day

Are you ready for an exciting and educational adventure in agriculture? The Mississippi Farm to School Network invites K-12 students and their families to join us on June 14, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for a FREE event hosted by Delta Fresh Foods at their beautiful farm in Cleveland, MS. Registration is required, and lunch will be provided.

Embark on a captivating farm tour where children can explore various types of fresh produce, discover farming equipment, delve into planting seasons, and uncover the fascinating history of farming and agriculture in the Delta region. They will also explore ways to improve farming methods using technology and learn how to use, harvest, and distribute produce. And let's not forget the fun games, like guessing different types of seeds!

Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of farming technology with our special guest, Azali Muhammad, the Drone Director from Alcorn State University. Azali will showcase cutting-edge drone technology that's revolutionizing how we cultivate our food. You'll learn firsthand about drones' invaluable role in modern farming practices, and you might even get to witness one in action!

Kids will also get the opportunity to win a sensational Door Prize Drone valued at $100!

But wait, there's more! Children can also sign up for the upcoming 2023-2024 Mississippi Youth Ambassador Program in August, and the Mississippi Farm to School Network will be distributing seeds and SWAG.

For a comfortable experience, we recommend wearing sturdy, comfy shoes and bringing sunscreen. Rain or shine, the event will proceed, so please dress appropriately and come prepared for any weather conditions. Don't miss out on this thrilling event!
